  • I love you, your work and this site…I have convinced myself that being single is the best way to go. But deep in my heart I long for a compatible, passionate & compassionate, ethical man!

Did I ever reply to your post?? If not, I’m so sorry!

Concerning your post: I come to the sometimes awful truth that my life is the result of what I say and put forth. I have no must-have on people being single. I’m okay with that. However, as long as the desire is there, my guess is that convincing oneself is pretty much saying, “I’ve given up. I’ve had too many losses and am not willing to experience another one.”
You know, Cate, there are just too many men in the world to suppose that there is not one single fellow who fits your desired requirements. It’s just not logical. And we need to start getting more logical about this often very emotional subject. See if you can put your thoughts on it in another context as I mention in my book. That may take some of the clichés out of it, long enough to think more clearly.
      Hope this helps!
Still want to take a ride with you and your girl! I’m working out saddle fit issues, but would love to somehow catch up!

I received an signed copy of your book and would like to know the process to get published. I have several ideas for publication but want to self-publish. What company did you use and roughly how much money did you need? How long did the process take from manuscript to finished product/distribution?

I am ever so excited to get your response so I can get started. You can call me at 323-495-5777 or email me at recyclercomputer@gmail.com. Thanks for publishing your book and I look forward to hearing from you.

    • Tanii Carr says:

      Hi Jeannie,
Apologies for the delay in responding. What I did was by trial and error. It is not about length of time, but rather doing the correct actions in the correct sequence. For designing the book, I used a very well respected design firm. I went way beyond what most people do in terms of the design and artwork. But that was just me and what I wanted to do.
That said, I would advise doing what I should have done to begin with, and that’s cruising the Internet for information. Also, I would spend more time researching my audience for your book: what do they like, need, want and why? What problems are they trying to solve to make sure that your book addresses those problems and provides solutions. This would be much better value for your time and money spent unless what your book looks like is an important part of what your audience needs.
I believe that if you look up the author, Jack Canfield (of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books), he has some free advice for how to publish. Also check out Bowker. These are the folks who provide copyright numbers and other such. I believe they offer good information on self-publishing.
I hope these things help. And again, sorry for the delay in replying.
      Tanii
